Reminder: old bug fixes and performance improvements are allowed for stable branches. No feature, string, UI, or API/ABI changes are allowed without a corresponding freeze exception approval.

Once a new major stable release is available, the previous old stable branch is marked as EOL. For Flatpak runtimes, there is a grace period between the point zero and the point one release, after which the runtime will be marked as "end-of-life".
